The Prime Minister’s MacDiarmid Emerging Scientist Prize

This Prize is for an outstanding emerging scientist undertaking research in New Zealand for a PhD,or graduates within 5 years of having completed their PhD. To be eligible the entrant must have been awarded their PhD from 1st January 2008, or later.

The Prime Minister’s MacDiarmid Emerging Scientist Prize is worth $200,000 to the recipient.

Entries opened on Tuesday 23rd April, and close 17th July. Click on the ‘Enter now’ tab to make an application.

Expectations

$150,000 of the Prize is to be used to support their on-going work. A plan for the use of this funding will be required from the prize recipient.

$50,000 of the Prize money is available to the recipient with no expectations on its use.

The recipient of the Prize would be expected to be involved in promotional opportunities appropriate to receiving The Prime Minister’s MacDiarmid Emerging Scientist Prize.
